World FallingFaden dived to the ground. He didn’t notice the scrapes that sliced up his arms. The little shafts of dirt pluming into the air were a much more pressing concern. He heard the repeating crack of their weapons. He could see his unit, or what was left of it, taking cover. He saw the silver haired Aiden stand, turn and fire. His pistol snapped out shot after shot. Faden had no idea if he was hitting anything but he admired his friend’s courage. He hadn’t flinched but there was already a trickle of blood seeping from a grazing wound on his face. Eventually even Aiden had to fall back into cover. The fire was too heavy.World Falling
